Our Clubs

Houghton Nursery Group provides childcare for children aged 2.5 to 11 years old over 50 weeks of the year, comprising of Breakfast Club, After School Club, and Holiday Club.

Breakfast and After School Clubs

During term time, we run a breakfast and after school club for the children who attend Houghton C of E School as well as for our nursery children.

The session times are:

Breakfast Club

Children booked into Breakfast Club can be dropped off from 8am (please be aware that no child will be permitted entry before 8am). 

For breakfast, children can choose from toast and a variety of cereals, accompanied by apple juice, orange juice, milk, or water. Please note that the serving of breakfast finishes at 8:25am to ensure all school children will be on time for school.

A member of our staff escorts the Breakfast Club to the school leaving our building at 8:35am. Year 4, 5, and 6 children then join their class lines in the school playground, and the staff member remains with the children from Reception and Year 1, 2, and 3 until they are with their class teacher(s).

After School Club

Children booked into After School Club can be collected at any time up to 6pm.

The children are picked up from our main door by an approved and authorised person - please note it is our policy that we will not allow a child to leave with anyone other than those we have been informed will be picking them up. If someone unexpected arrives, we would contact the child's parent or carer to gain authorisation to allow the child to leave with the unexpected person.

A member of our staff collects the children from the school and escorts them to our building at approximately 3:20pm. The staff member collects the Reception children directly from their classroom.

If your child attends an extra-curricular activity at school, a member of staff from the school would be informed that your child would need to be brought round to us once the club has finished.

Once the children are in our building and settled, we provide them with the option of having a healthy snack before allowing them to relax and have fun playing with a large choice of resources from crafts to Barbies to electronics (e.g., an Xbox), as well as outside.

Holiday Club 

During school holidays, we run a holiday club for children aged 2.5 to 11 years old.

We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm during all of the school holidays, except for bank holidays and over Christmas.

Children booked into Holiday Club can be dropped off and collected at any point between the session times they are booked into.

No child will be permitted entry before 8am or before their session time begins as we have a legal requirement to maintain our ratios to ensure the safety of all the children who attend Houghton Nursery Group.
